Film director, Gisella has been working on the film industry for 25 years and has taken part on more than 40 feature films. As script supervisor, worked on “Romance”, by Guel Arraes, “Madame Satã”, by de Karin Ainouz, “Maré Nossa História de Amor”, by Lucia Murat, “Olga”, by Jayme Monjardim, “A Partilha”, by Daniel Filho and the Oscar ® Academy Award, “O Quatrilho”, by Fábio Barreto.
As editor and assistant director she has worked on “Kuarup”, by Rui Guerra, “Wild Orchid” by Zalman King with Mickey Rourke, “Moon over Parador” by Paul Mazursky, “Céu de Suely”, by Karim Ainouz and “Um copo de Cólera”, by Aluízio Abranches.
Graduated on Pedagogy and Social Communication at PUC-Rio, she has followed a course at the UCLA Extension Program on Films, USA. Gisella presently teaches production, direction and direction assistance and script supervising at several Film Festivals, such as the International Short Film Festival, in Rio de Janeiro, institutions, universities and at Special governmental projects for TV.
As a director she is now finishing her first feature film, “Master of Labirynth” about the schizophrenic artist Arthur Bispo do Rosário. She has previously directed the short films “Celia and Rosita”, which received several awards like the TV Cultura at the International Film Festival of São Paulo, while being screened at several international film festivals; it had sales for Australia, Spain and France and broadcasted at all Brazilian short movies programmes on TV.
Her second short film project, “Wrath Times”, featuring the Goldenen Bär winner, Marcélia Cartaxo, won 21 prizes, among them four for best director and five for best picture. Gisella also produced and directed produced the TV episode “Serra do Cipó”, for the Photosynthesis Project. The program has been broadcasted on cable TV, TV SENAC and TV Novo Horizonte.
