Born and raised in Kawasaki, Takashi Arai began his carrier as a professional photographer in 2003. Takashi has been studying daguerreotype process by himself and is known as a unique contemporary daguerreotypist in Japan.
Takashi is a lecturer at Tokyo Collage of Photography and a part-time lecturer at Kyoto University of Art and Design. His daguerreotype was registered for the permanent collection of Musée Adrien Mentienne in France in 2010.
