a career soldier from Woodlawn, TN, Doris Long, a Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army, and Photographer, was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success. As a Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army, Ms. Long has a unique ability to work with her hands and is known for her wide range of creativity. Her ranking responsibilities include overseeing force protection and mitigating injuries with soldiers and equipment as well as fund raising for the Army Emergency Relief Program. In addition to serving in the military, she runs her own business, Long's Photography. She is accredited as a nitrox scuba diver; scuba diving ignited her passion for photography. Ms. Long practiced underwater photography for six years. Furthermore, she published a hardbound book of her photography, as well as the photography of other soldiers within her unit while she was serving in Iraq.
Ms. Long holds a Bachelor of Science in liberal arts, with an emphasis in psychology, from Excelsior College. Continuing to pursue her interest in photography, she is obtaining a bachelor's degree in photography at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
