Helen Marshall ( D.O.B 1971 ) is a British artist. Her work is rooted in photography and lens-based media. She also works with digital media, performance, installation, sound and text.
Her work challenges conventional social documentary approaches.
To date the work has been sited largely in the public realm and realised through a series of projects in galleries, mental health, medical settings, the built environment and curated events. In 2013 she exhibited new work in Indonesia. She has worked on commissions with the BBC, The Photographers’ Gallery, University of East London Research Institute, MUF Architecture Art, Rosetta Life and The National Trust.
