I’m interested in people regarded as a combination of events, experiences and emotions. Humans and their personal environment became the starting point for my art. The stories of human emotions. I listen to them and note them. They impress me, every time in a different way. This variety implies a specific approach. Telling stories about theses specific people. Their honesty allows me to be honest too. I register, edit, and provoke. I want to get closer to the truth. To what is hidden, most intimate, uncomfortable, painful. Yet authentic. Seen “in between”. I’m not interested in easy story telling. I do not cut my films into fragmentary clips. The truth needs time. It is revealed in subsequent acts. Slowly it gives testimony. Strips off delusion. Becomes the basis and the foundation. It needs silence and concentration. This is what I’m looking for. Meditation, nature, truth, continuance. Intimacy of perception. I tend to make things more simple and clear. I reject all that is excessive, unnecessary, all that is disorienting and disorganizing. In simplicity and conciseness I search for what is most valuable – the essence of things. I avoid pathos, exaltation and preaching.
