Interdisciplinarity has been at the core of Elizabeth Chitty’s artistic practice for 40 years. Her installations are usually video-based including sound. She has created public artists’ gardens, constructed photographs and has worked with community-based strategies. Her performances may reflect dance or performance art lineages; she is equally at home in the gallery, on the stage or in the public realm. A native of St. Catharines, her work has been seen locally, nationally and internationally, and is in the collection of The National Gallery of Canada amongst others.
