My name is Mauro Fermariello, and I was born in Naples in 1958. I graduated in Agriculture, but soon abandoned my work in the country to pursue my passion for photography.
So I moved to Milan in 1990, starting to work for various publications, doing photo reports, and furthering my interest in scientific topics.
My work has been published in a wide range of International and Italian scientific journals (New Scientist, Lancet, Focus, Le Scienze, Quark, Jack, Newton etc.), as well as in mass market newspapers and magazines such as Time, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, Corriere della Sera, Venerdì di Repubblica, Donna Moderna, etc., with photo reports in Bosnia, Iraq, Cambodia and Uganda.
I currently work with the English agency Science Photo Library, for whom I do scientific photography, and the Italian Tips Images.
