As a producer Anita Tovich received a daytime Emmy award, another 2 Emmy nominations, as well as a Peabody Award for electronic journalism, and Cable Ace for Nickelodeon’s “Nick News” hosted by Linda Ellerbee. She also received special mention from the New York Emmys for a show she developed and produced for Cablevision.

While part of the development team for a new television network for Cablevision, called The Story Channel, she worked with IFC and emerging filmmakers.

She has functioned as a producer/consultant, supervising producer, and/or executive producer for CBS, NBC, Lifetime, Viacom, PBS, MSNBC, among many other television networks, creating documentaries of varying form and length.

While an Interim Executive Director at DCTV, Anita worked with fledgling filmmakers and went on to produce shorts and features with first time writer/directors.

Currently she is the Chair/Director for the Producing Department at the New York Film Academy where she developed the Industry Speaker Series and Producer Internship Program, Producer Mentor Program, and NYFA/IFP Mixer – Screenings with Warner Bros. Magnolia Pictures, and Relativity Media, all of which she oversees.
