DESIGNER // DIRECTOR // RESEARCHER // LECTURER
A Dublin based designer, director and academic, I have worked across Europe during the last 14 years in practice. My extensive design industry experience covers a broad creative spectrum from graphic design, branding and promotional music videos, through fashion communication, photography and interiors, to art direction and textile design innovation.
Currently directing a series of design films, accompanied by a range of articles and written pieces, I am beginning to develop a body of work that looks at curating a view of design in Ireland and beyond.
I am currently a visiting lecturer in MA Interior Design at the Royal College of Art, a Visiting Professor in MA Design at the Estonian Academy of Arts. I've previously held roles at the National College of Art and Design, Heriot-Watt University, Kingston University, the Interactive Design Institute and for the University of Strathclyde.
Alongside developing new models of pedagogical enquiry related to design teaching & learning, my research interests include applying creative thinking and design tools to developing innovative way of questioning, responding to, and discussing the city. Previous research has encompassed design approaches to innovate textile production and textile archiving, which led to AHRC funding and cross-disciplinary collaboration within academia and industry.
Combined, both my academic profile and design practice focus on the potential of narrative and communication within design.
