Storm is a Flim director, a writer and a film technician. He graduated from Flinders University with a 2a honors degree in Film psychoanalysis and philosophy. Storm’s work in the film industry has been recognized both nationally and internationally. SASA awarded his film “Sleeping With The Light On” Best Drama, and his work for the band “No Through Road” Best Music Clip for his direction on the “The Next Bob Dylan”. His short film “The Wish” was not only nominated for Best Director and Best Script, but was also screened in festivals around the world including The Australian film festival, The LA Film Festival, and most prestigiously The Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival in Paris.
Recently, Storm’s $50,000 funded short film ‘Paper Planes’ was nominated for an AFI for best screen play as well as having overwhelming success in every festival it has been excepted into, with a array of awards and nominations including Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography. Thus far, some of these festivals include, The Shorts Film festival and St Kilda Film festival and SASA.
His feature film script “A Search for Hope” was a runner up for the 21st Century Screen Writing awards in 2007. Early in 2012 Storm’s feature film script and teaser for “the School” made it as one of the Top 10 Finalists for the MTV Optus180 project.
Three of Storm’s feature scripts “Escape And Evasion”, “A Search for Hope” and “The School” have all received various funding for development and assistance from the South Australian Film Corporation, Screen Australia and the UK Script factory in London.
Storm’s talent for writing began at an early age, winning an award for a controversial short play “The Wrong Pub” at the age of twelve. Since then he has written a myriad of short stories and scripts with a specific focus on the dramatic and in particular the dispossessed.
