François Bourru started his career as a fashion stylist, working between New York & Paris with high profile magazines (Vogue Italia, Marie Claire, Deutsche Vogue) and advertising campaigns (Printemps, Diesel Jeans, Citroën). He collaborated with such reknown photographers as Steven Meisel, Albert Watson, Tiziano Magni, Serge Guérand, Jean François Jonvelle and Vitor Amati…
Becoming more & more involved in art direction around 1995, he immersed himself in the hands-on technique of photography and was quickly commissioned to shoot professionally. François Bourru specializes in portraits (actors, musicians, writers…), international lifestyle and day or night reportages. His personal art photography (In the Move) combines movement, light and color in a singular and lyrical space of time.
François Bourru’s parallel activities in film as co-director & art director for features and advertising internationally reinforce his ‘savoir faire’ in the conceptual audio-visual process. He has an innate talent in building motivated & efficient teams, able to function between creation and communication while effectively uniting positive & artistic energies.
