NOMAN is the utopia of Selina Parr (trained fashion designer) and Lara Tolman (trained set designer) in which they capture the visual expressions of their time. What they present is a purity in shape, material and colour, without secrets and metaphors, just the elements themselves. These abstractions capture the contemporary aesthetics, presented in a concentrated form. They are extracted from the world around us, but do not refer back to it. The language of this abstraction expresses an inner intuitive world, forcing the viewer to extract the meaning of the work out of its self and allowing space for different associative interpretations.
