I picked up my first camera, a Kodak, at the age of five. The film was black and white, and my first shot was a still of my father by a roaring campfire. That moment sparked a lifelong love of film and flame.
In high school I was active in community theatre and gained experience as an actress and makeup artist. I trained for fourteen years in various forms of dance, with a discipline in modern. In 1983, I attended Tennessee Tech University and studied still photography. A career as a flight attendant and travel agent to the stars followed, but my love of film persuaded me to enroll in the New York Film Academy in January 2011.
While attending NYFA and working full time, I worked as a grip and best boy for Starr Films on the set of B61. B61 went on to the Tribeca Film Festival and received outstanding reviews. I continued my work with Starr Films on two additional projects, as an AD and actress.
An internship with Peter Bolte followed, as well as PA work for Francesco Saviano. I next immersed myself in music video. Working closely with Justin Symbol of the band Nursing Home, I co-produced two music videos, and gained experience as a production coordinator, casting director, wardrobe consultant, and 2nd cam.
Next, I produced and shot a number of my own short films, and began work in special events filming. I am currently producing and directing another music video (scheduled to shoot June 2012), as well as continuing to film events around New York City.
My dreams as a filmmaker are coming to fruition. A feature film, based on my original concept, has been green lit by a major company, and is currently entering the production phase.
