Since its development in 2011, Darling Quarter has quickly and successfully established itself not only as Sydney’s newest and most vibrant community precinct, but as a benchmark for innovative social, cultural and environmental engagement. By way of collaboration with some of Australia’s most forward-thinking corporate and creative minds, Darling Quarter has sought to redefine Sydneysiders’ approach to leisure, expression and interactivity, both with their city, and with each other.
Throughout the year, Darling Quarter boasts a promenade of premium eateries and Australia’s biggest free kids’ playground, all set against the backdrop of Luminous, a breathtaking and expansive interactive digital façade. Children are encouraged to explore their creativity through performances at the Lend Lease Darling Quarter Theatre and the Little Darlings Night Owls Kids Film Fest, and grown-ups have a place for playtime too with the free table tennis tables and Luminous Nights, a month-long activation that combines the dancing lights of Luminous with the gentle energy of the Future Classic DJs. Most recently, Darling Quarter launched OPEN, a new free public art precinct, that debuted with the widely celebrated OPEN STREET ART exhibition.
In a space designed to be the seam that knits together family, friends, couples, colleagues and kids, Darling Quarter is a community hub that offers something to just about everyone. Whether you seek downtime or discovery, escapism or engagement, Darling Quarter’s fresh design and dynamic year-round programming means it won’t be long before you find what you are looking for.
