Rudy Valdez is a New York City-based documentary filmmaker committed to making cinematic, meaningful documentary films about social, cultural and political issues. Having been fortunate enough to work with and learn from critically acclaimed filmmakers, Marc Levin (Protocols of Zion, Slam, Mr. Untouchable) and Mark Benjamin (Banging in Little Rock, Protocols of Zion, The Last Party). His time with Marc and Mark has often been referred to as the “Film School of Hard Knocks” and has allowed him to be a part of many projects from pre-production to post-production and all stages in between – as a producer, field producer, cameraman, sound mixer, and editor. Most recently, Rudy was called one of the three “young, up-and-coming” filmmakers that played key roles in the production of the Sundance series, Brick City.
