My senses are intense--sometimes a song, image, or flavor will influence me for days. Not sure how to explain it. I feel and visualize music, it is a powerful emotional trigger for me--soothing at times and debilitating other times.
I learned in 2012 that I am a synesthete, or in other words, I have a form of synesthesia. If has been with me my whole life and something I have never even realized I had—until I learned that other people don’t have the same meshing of senses. It is very hard to put into words, but I basically feel vibes from inanimate objects. The shape of an object gives it a personality. It applies to some, but not all things—and it is very transparent and done without any thinking at all.
I take pictures. Put a camera in front of my eye and I almost can't stop capturing the images that fill my brain with wonder and awe. I use a Canon 7D, and a variety of equipment including flashlights, lenses, a tripod, an intervalometer and more.
In my free time, you can usually find me chilling with my daughters and/or Virginia, out taking pictures, taking a road-trip, exploring the un-beaten paths, nerding it up on my computer, working on landscaping, gardening, cooking, or one of the other 400 trillion things that interest me. If I am not doing that, I am usually working or sleeping.
