We study the information supporting life.
We consider a full range of phenomena, from cells to societies. Our eight research areas are united by this common informational foundation.
We’re the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery (WID), a transdisciplinary research institute at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and public half of the Discovery partnership, focusing on the interfaces of education, research and business.
WID is located in the award-winning Discovery building along with its partners the private, non-profit Morgridge Institute for Research and the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation.
