Created way back in 2003. Inspired by a topic from the Internet Ray-Tracing Competition (http://www.irtc.org/anims/2003-10-15.html), a contest so old it predates YouTube. Won first place that quarter, then premiered on cable television for the Nicktoons Film Festival.

It's also been shown at the DC Shorts Festival, the Cleveland Film Festival, the Annapolis Film Festival, and possibly some other festivals overseas that I forgot about. In addition to Nicktoons, it was also shown on the G4 television channel.

From concept to final render, it took eight days to create, according to the notes I wrote at the time. I have no reason to believe I'm lying, although I do think I improved some of the textures when I re-rendered it for film festivals.

Although this was not my first animation, it was the first that made it to the festival circuit. If I hadn't entered the Nicktoons contest on a whim, and succeeded, I doubt I ever would have tried to do anything again.
