BlackBerry Q10 is the new Keyboard Device for BlackBerry 10.
My APPs support the shortcuts of Q10.
Shortcuts enhance the productivity, but as a developer you have to think about what's the best to provide a seamless and safe workflow.
On Touch devices - if a user deletes a record you normaly don't ask him "do you really want to delete".
On a Q10 keyboard device delete actions are automatically mapped to the "del" key on the keyboard.
This is good to be fast, but sometimes Q10 is too fast ;-)
If by accident you tip on the "del" instead of "return" key and a record is deleted your user isn't happy anymore.
As a developer of quality apps you have to invest some more time to provide a seamless workflow and also a safe way for users.
This webcast shows you what happens and also an easy solution: add UNDO and your user is happy.
Easy in this case means easy for the user, but easy for users means some or more work and rethinking of…

have fun with the video and if you're a lucky Q10 owner: have fun with a device without competition.

HINT: the device I'm using in this video is NOT the real Q10 - it's a Dev Alpha C - the developer device to test apps for Q10.

Thanks to Heiko Behrens CamHolder (camholder.org) you can easy follow which keys are typed on the Keyboard.
