Synopsis :
What space does the urban environment around us leave for imagination, feelings, for our humanity? This question is at the heart of George Descombes’ approach to landscape architecture. From the Swiss Way forest path to the redevelopment of an area near Amsterdam that was destroyed following a plane crash, Descombes’ creations raise the issue of the appropriateness of intervention. Georges Descombes, along with some of his fellow travelers such as Dutch Architect Herman Hertzberger and French landscape designer Michel Corajoud, talk about their work and cast a scathing eye over a contemporary architecture that has alienated itself from everyday life. A poetic and philosophical journey, this is a film for a general audience.
