Internationally acclaimed artist Iain McCaig – one of the motion picture industry’s leading conceptual designers – will be visiting Loughborough University in September.

McCaig will be a keynote speaker at the School of the Arts and Loughborough Design School 2012 Drawing Research Network Conference.

Taking place from 10-11 September, the theme for this year’s conference is ‘Drawing Knowledge’.

McCaig’s exceptional command of human anatomy, character, emotional expression and visual narrative make him one of the most sought after artists working in the entertainment industry today. He has worked on a series of Hollywood blockbusters, including Star Wars episodes one to three, Steven Spielberg’s Hook and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

At the conference he will talk about his many experiences working in the film industry, alongside some of Hollywood’s biggest names.

Andrew Selby, head of the School of the Arts said: “We are delighted to host Iain McCaig as part of the Drawing Research Network conference. Iain's contribution to the film industry has been universally acclaimed and he will be providing a unique insight into his experiences of working on major motion pictures.”
