In 2011 I travelled to Kyushu, Japan to document photographer Michael Levin and his work. The end result was a short film that represented the mood and feel of a lone photographer in his element. The final result can be seen here: https://vimeo.com/24665710
In this short "bonus" film from the same trip I focused the edit on a special event that we happened to find. While driving around one day looking for a spot to eat the local market bought sushi…

Japan is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. This is my Japan. This is one of the many reasons why I love Japan. I shot this in many locations around Japan in the summer of 2009. Some of the location include Tokyo, Matsuyama, Imabari, Nagano, Gifu, and Ishizushisan.
I started this as a personal project to…
I went to Nike with an idea. The idea started as a way to showcase multiple athletes in different sports using tilt shift time lapse photography and composting. After talking with Nike about what they were looking for we decided to narrow it down to one sport and one athlete. In comes Laura Hadar and snowboarding.
We had a general storyboard to follow. But as the piece was so complex visually we had to sort of just shoot and see what we got almost.…
We shot this spot in Chicago with a 2010 Porsche Carrera 4S and a Canon 5D Mark II.

Saijo Matsuri is a festival held every year in October in Saijo, Japan. It is truly one of the most exciting, energetic experiences I have ever witnessed. I have been to the festival about 5 times and have always wanted to capture the energy and mood of the event. But I never had a way of getting "in" it the way I wanted and to have the quality that I was seeking that could showcase it in a way that comes close to actually being there.
This year…
These are a few of the time lapses I gathered this winter while traveling around.
Shots from Lake Tahoe, Alaska, Utah, Switzerland, Colorado, Minnesota, Finland and Japan.
Shot with the Canon 5D Mark II.
Starring the new 2010 Porsche Panamera, I shot this commercial at the Autobahn track outside of Chicago and in downtown Chicago.
Shot solely with a Canon 5DMKII. I was once again blown away at the performance and quality of the 5DMKII. We could have shot this spot with many different cameras but I chose the 5DMKII because of the quality and flexibility that it offers.

Whether shooting with RED from a helicopter in Alaska, dolly and jib work in Moscow or 5D Mark II timelapses in Tokyo, I take pride in capturing nothing but the finest quality imagery through my camera. And that same dedication to quality and progression continues in the edit room where the magic continues.
