KIC students put together a dance routine urging the students and staff of Keone'ula to celebrate the world and make a difference. This was a part of the various activities the students planned for Earth week 2012.
KIC students partnered up with various organizations to educate parents and students of KES on going green. Students created hands-on games and activities for the audience to participate in. The games were geared to the 3R's: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. The various organizations such as HECO, Board of Water Supply, Blue Planet, Schnitzer Steel and Kokua Hawaii, presented information on their goals as an organization and how they promote going green.
Here are the new KIC members for the school year 2011-2012. As you can see, each group is important in making KIC a functional group. Thank you to the recycling team, tech team, artist team and wrtiers & planning team.
One of our first service projects this year was the Lokahi Giving Project. KIC volunteered to work with Lokahi to collect and sort gifts from people at Ala Moana Center.
KIC students partnered up with the military (Navy branch) to paint the upper and lower parking lot curb! Students also pulled weeds and veins off of the upper parking lot gate.
Thank you Mrs. Danielson for setting up this project!
