This training will provide introductory information for clinicians about integrating mental health treatment with both physical health and substance use concerns in adolescents and children. Participants will learn about successful integrated care models, medical issues that commonly co-occur with mental health and substance use in children and adolescents, and how they can use behavioral health interventions to address these medical issues. The training will also include a case study for participants to practice applying the knowledge from the training to a realistic potential client.

At the conclusion of the training, participants will be able to: (1) Briefly describe the importance of integrating services for children and adolescents; (2) List three (3) medical issues that commonly co-occur with mental health and substance use in children and adolescents; (3) List three (3) examples of behavioral health interventions that can be applied to medical diagnoses.
