Un colloque tenu à l'Ined (Institut National d'Etudes Démographiques, Paris-France) le 31 mai 2016 a marqué le lancement du projet Demostaf (Demography Statistics for Africa), dont Géraldine Duthé (chercheure à l'Ined) est la coordinatrice.
La communication de Sara Randall (University college, London) était intitulée "Où sont passés les nomades? 50 ans d'invisibilité statistique et démographique des éleveurs nomades africains".
