What is memory? In 2013, only shortly before the outbreak of Euromaidan and eventually the Ukrainian Revolution, an international youth team set out to portray current cultures of remembrance in Ukraine. We were far from expecting that our topic would be revived so violently thereafter.
Survivors, historians and people we met by chance on the road articulate their specific view on memory, thus revealing the necessity to not only prevent forgetting, but also to encourage discourse on the mass extermination of Jewish lives in Central Europe.
