The Great Big Walk is an annual event featuring 13 individuals walking across the UK for 21 days. Separated into 5 teams, each team walked from the Leeds to Sth Cornwall, Cardiff (Wales), Belfast (Ireland), London and Edinburgh (Scotland). The ambition of the event is to raise awareness, and draw attention to, local communities and the amazing individuals and programs within. The project is also a sister project with The Great Big Lunch and inspired from the tragic death of Jo Cox.
Courtney Ireland and Mfa Zaman who were walking across the UK as part to The Great Big Walk to gather support for local community projects, attended a significant gathering at the Southwark Cathedral.
After the London attacks on London Bridge in 2017 religious leaders from all factions of faith gathered in the Catholic Church to drive home the message of community and shared acceptance and understanding.
As part of a suite of films covering the entire Great Big Walk event, Shooting Producer Courtney Wright from Cloud Nine Media was on location to capture the event.
