The lonely village

This film portrays the way of life of a town and a village, in a region of northeastern Portugal, in the general environment of accelerated desertification of the countryside and villages in the present time.
In the interior of the country, time has long passed and all have forgotten those who dared to stay in the countryside. And the exodus is not only human. Schools, pharmacies, courier services, health centers, carriers, police and courts, were disappearing from the Interior.
There are only the lonely villages, abandoned villages and the memories of the forest house, the misfortunes and sorrows, the fear and the games, the songs and dances, the hope and the sun that continues to die behind the Gião, a few days follow the others and the nights and weeks, one after the other.

A aldeia solitária
Este filme retrata as vivências de uma vila e de uma aldeia, numa região do nordeste de Portugal, no ambiente geral da desertificação acelerada do interior e das aldeias, no tempo presente.
No interior do País, há muito que o tempo passou e todos se esqueceram dos que ousaram ficar pelo interior rural. E o êxodo não é só humano. Escolas, farmácias, serviços de correio, centros de saúde, transportadoras, postos da GNR e tribunais, foram desaparecendo do Interior.
Só restam as aldeias solitárias, abandonadas e as recordações da casa da floresta, das desgraças e das tristezas, do medo e das partidas, das cantigas e das danças, da esperança e do sol que continua a morrer, atrás do Gião, uns dias a seguir aos outros e as noites e semanas, umas depois das outras.
