About:
"Emilia" is my graduation film.
I made the film during my last two years at the Design Department at HAW Hamburg.
"Emilia" is a Live-Action puppet animation, mysterious and playing with the illusion of reality.
Synopsis:
The film is about a nine year old girl named Emilia, who hears children voices coming from outside her window. She follows the voices from her room into the forest. While looking for the voices she has to face her emotions and past memories.
Technique:
"Emila" was made in Live-Action, meaning the puppet has been moved while filming each scene. In order to move the puppet, insertions had to be built in into her elbows, legs and the back of her head.
A beauty shot followed each scene for easier postproduction.
Face replacements have been created for several emotions, held via magnet in the back of her head. Since the movie was shot in Live-Action, the face replacements could only be exchanged after one scene was shot.
