Hanan Abu Shanab is a Palestinian college student studying in the United States under a Hope Fund Scholarship. She is one of five Palestinians and five Israeli participating in the first year of the New Story Leadership program for the Middle East. NSL offers an environment where young leaders from conflict zones can foster understanding, reconciliation, and a commitment to peace.
At NSL's first Congressional Forum held at the Rayburn House Office Building across the street from the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC., Hanan joined five of her fellow students in sharing her Middle East story with members of the U.S. Congress, staff members, and friends.
