A chance find of a Red-banded sand wasp (Ammophila sabulosa) preparing it's burrow with a stunned caterpillar laying ready. It then took the caterpillar underground and filled in the entrance. The caterpillar is tentatively identified as being in the Noctuidae (owlet moths) family, possibly a Knot Grass (Acronicta rumicis).
Kids are fascinated by nature, and it's rare to witness such an event, and even rarer to have a handy video camera just there.
No music added, and the few on site comments are in Norwegian. The clips does however not need commenting, so I've just left the sound as is.
I sold my Panasonic TM700 camcorder and picked up a TM90. It is much smaller and has a 26x optical and 40x intelligent zoom and still does 1080p at 60fps.
