  2. On January 21, 2017, hundreds of thousands of people marched in support of women's rights, women's health issues, immigrant rights, LGBT rights and other issues. These marches were held in Washington DC, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York and many other places, including Antarctica, London, Australia, Germany and other countries. The Archives and Special Collections unit of Radford University's McConnell Library is conducting interviews of participants of various marches to help preserve the history, the ideas and impressions of those marchers. On February 6, 2017 Beth Kelsey- Washington DC marcher- sat down and told the details about the march, both figuratively and literally. She talked about why she marched, what she hopes will come from the march, addresses concerns of those opposed to the march and summed up her experience very succinctly at the end. This interview is illustrated with many photographs and a few video clips from the march.

On February 4, 2017 Jeanne Roper spoke to us about her march experience, her thoughts on this march as compared other marches she has been in over the last 50 years, her perceptions of the mood of the crowd and her advice for present and future students. Jeanne's perspective on all of this is fascinating and that paired with her years of experience as an educator make this short interview a fascinating one.

The two friends used this time to reflect on the march, compare memories, laugh, and provide a unique perspective of the day and their hopes for the future.

Lee Stewart was interviewed at about the one year anniversary of the march to give a different perspective on the march, the expectations of results and a feeling of the general mood of the country since then. She also spoke about her experience in the fields of education and counseling.
