This 20 minute video describes the ALZET pump mechanism, and the advantages of continuous infusion over frequent injections. The video also describes proper filling of the ALZET pump and surgical techniques for implantation in rats and mice. Demonstrated procedures include subcutaneous and intraperitoneal implantation, and the use of a catheter for intravenous (jugular), intrathecal, intragastric, and cranial/cerebral infusion.
