BARE ONLINE is a documentary web series revealing unseen moments and extended footage from the documentary film BARE (2020). This exclusive series explores the artistic and technical layers behind Anima Ardens, a bold contemporary dance performance created by Belgian choreographer Thierry Smits.

Each episode dives deeper into the creative journey — honoring the beauty of the male body, the raw physicality of dance, and the collaboration with choreographers and dancers working in Belgium’s vibrant dance scene.

Episode 1: ANIMALS
In this opening episode, we witness the very first stage of creation: the audition process. A group of male dancers arrive with nothing but openness and courage. Thierry Smits gives them a task — embody an animal, without words, without filters. What follows is an extraordinary glimpse into how performers access instinct, imagination, and vulnerability.

This is the beginning of something wild, intimate, and deeply human.
