Greenwatch TV

Our guest for this segment is the sister of Joe Campos Torres, whose body was found in Buffalo Bayou 40 years ago this year. His murder by Houston police is one known case of blatant brutality. Six officers killed him, beating him so severely that the jail would not accept him, telling the cops to take him to Ben Taub hospital. Instead, they took him to a dock and pushed his nearly lifeless body into the river to drown. His sister, Janie Torres, has been able to begin talking about it only in recent years, and now feels that this history must be told. Especially now. There will be a commemorative walk and rally May 6, 2017 in Houston, Texas, as Janie tells us at the end of this interview.
