The Motor City is where it all began for the automotive industry. Innovators of the musical world also set their roots in Detroit, crafting history through the different genres that they built over time. Throughout history, Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, Motown, electronica, blues and niche rock always credit their inspiration to the state, built on loyalty, resilience and – most importantly – a never dying spirit.

In homage and celebration of two of the greatest industries to come out of metro Detroit, The Motors and Music Experience will be hosted Saturday, August 18, 2012 in the parking lot of the legendary Pontiac Silverdome, with one of the most iconic rock bands of the past quarter century, Stone Temple Pilots.
