It was kind of a regular, like night, I was coming home from, I was with a friend. I was on a date. I ditched him and went out with my friend. And we were just coming on our way home. I don't really remember, this is just three cars, and we were in the middle, and I just got hit. I was in the backseat, and I don't remember that, but I woke up two weeks later, and I was at Sunnybrook. That's how I ended up.

So I had a brain injury, traumatic brain injury, aneurysm, but then there were a bunch of little things as well. I, you know, lost my hearing in my right ear. I had some facial paralysis, which I still have — double vision. And then just like the little things that come with like having a brain injury, which is exhaustion and trouble focusing and attention and short term memory. Things that just really affect your day-to-day. Even if I didn't know that I had a brain injury until someone pointed it out to me. And then you start to notice things that are a little bit harder.

So they just met with him, and they had met with other people as well, but the reason they chose him was because he was the only one who actually asked, you know, how I was doing. And like the first thing, how is Shannon doing? And they were just like, Hey, great. And they went with him. So I had a lawyer and everything before I even knew what was going on. And I didn't meet Greg until I asked a couple of months later, and I was going through recovery. I just knew that he was there and he was helping.

Just peace of mind has been great knowing that I don't need to take care of a lot of, you know, the other stuff. You know that I only have to focus on rehab and getting back into school and having a regular life. So they have set me up with a really great team of physiotherapists, and support workers, and occupational therapy, and I have a great case worker. And they are people who work with Greg a lot.

I was going to an office meeting and was hit by a car coming around the corner, and the underground fell back, had a head laceration. My leg was smashed, and so the lower part of my leg. So I was taken off to merge, and they did some surgery put a rod in my shin and whatnot; it was followed by a second surgery. A year later where they determined that I might've been allergic to some of the metal that was in there, so they took some of it out. That really didn't work at all. So I had to have a third surgery where they took everything out. And in the meantime, I had physio and aqua therapy and a psychologist, and a social worker and everything I could possibly have. It changed both of our lives. She went from someone who was working 12 hours a day to someone who couldn't get out of bed without assistance. So, it was a complete 180. I was around to help her with, you know, tasks of daily living and that kind of thing. But I didn't really have any idea about the legal process or how she would proceed with the rest of her life. So to have someone around to be able to guide her and reassure her that her needs would be taken care of in the future was huge.

My sister, who's a lawyer in Vancouver, checked with the law society, and they suggested a couple of names. And my other sister who's here, what often meant Jeffrey, liked him, and I've heard good things. So we've, we retained him. They've been very thorough, so staff's friendly, really friendly. Jeff was just really great and kind of outlining the next steps for us at every stage, from getting her therapies lined up to talking about settlements. He always had all the answers that we were looking for and was able to provide any information that we needed, which was great.

The worry was the biggest thing. And he could constantly, I constituted long emails, which I don't even know if he even read, but the general message was at the end of it, please don't worry. Try and heal, rest, and relax. Let me do the worrying for you, which is very comforting.

I wouldn't thank Jeff for helping my mum on this road to recovery and for helping set her up as best as she can be for the future.

Testimonial - Leah was hit by a streetcar and hired Stacy Koumarelas

Almost five years ago, me and some friends were out, and one friend and I had gone to cross the street. I guess a streetcar had seen us, but I had fallen on the curb falling down and just at the wrong woman, and the streetcar had hit me and drag me for a little while.

Basically, I should have been dead within 24 hours. So easy, so easy. I remember being told several times; my job was just to get well and to focus on my recovery. And for the day, that day I really didn't have to worry about things. They have seen Gary had put together a full-fledged team - whether it was a physio, occupational therapy, speech pathology, massage therapy, retail therapy. You name it like I had every kind of therapist you can imagine. Oh, it was fantastic. As I said, it was just very, very easy.

They kept me out of kind of the day to day stuff I didn't need to know, and I was thankful that I didn't have to worry about the stress of the lawsuit on top of my recovery. Absolutely, I would recommend Neinstein and associates.

Testimonial Julian was in a motorcycle accident and he hired Greg Neinstein

We were heading North on parliament street and going into the corner that leads onto the Dan forth and then across the blur street viaduct. And we are either clipped or, we clipped something that was nobody was sure. We ended up thrown from the motorcycle and under the wheels of an SUV.

I didn't want to deal with any lawyers, anything. I was very resistant to all of that. But I realize it now that I look at them. Before I might've thought, "Oh, he's messed up because of this or that, or some marginalization.". But now I recognize things like; "Oh, that person has been in an accident", "hasn't had the proper physiotherapy", or "hasn't had the proper care" and "now they're, they're dealt basically stuck with whatever infirmity it is for life" you know?.

And so I was very fortunate that I was able to connect with, I think Neinstein, specifically. Because I had heard about people's experience with other lawyers, and it didn't match what my experience with Neinstein.

Neinstein always kept me informed. Because one of my issues was, I want it to be in the loop. I didn't want to be in the dark about anything that was happening. They really took care to treat me with respect and dignity. And I definitely would consider the people that helped me at Neinstein that I dealt with at Neinstein to be friends. And I felt that they were in my corner, that we were part of a team together. You know, I felt comfortable.
