"THE AUSCHWITZ VOLUNTEER: BEYOND BRAVERY," Captain Witold Pilecki's most comprehensive report about his nearly three-year undercover mission as a prisoner at Auschwitz. Published in English for the first time. Translated by Jarek Garlinski. Introduction by Prof. Norman Davies. Foreword by Rabbi Michael Schudrich, Chief Rabbi of Poland.
A New York Times "Editors' Choice." The Wall St. Journal calls it one of the "Five Best" books on wartime secret missions. A Featured Selection of the History Book Club®. A Selection of the Book-of-the-Month Club® and the Military Book Club®.
World War II, German-occupied Poland: in September 1940, Polish Army officer Witold Pilecki volunteered for a potentially suicidal undercover mission for the Polish Underground -- to get himself arrested by the Germans and sent to Auschwitz as a prisoner. His mission: to smuggle out intelligence about this new German concentration camp and build a resistance organization among the inmates.
Pilecki's remarkable mission was intentionally suppressed by the postwar Polish communist regime for nearly fifty years, and is virtually unknown in the West.

“The Color of Courage—A Boy at War: The World War II Diary of Julian Kulski.” Foreword by Lech Wałęsa, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. Introduction by Rabbi Michael Schudrich, Chief Rabbi of Poland.
This remarkable diary follows Julian Kulski, a 10-year-old Boy Scout when WWII begins. At age 12, Kulski is recruited into the clandestine Underground Army by his scoutmaster and begins training in military tactics and weapons handling. At 13, he accompanies his commander on a secret mission into the Warsaw Ghetto.
He is arrested by the Gestapo at age 14, but is rescued from near certain death at Auschwitz. By the age of 15, he joins the 9th Commando Company and fights in the Warsaw Uprising. Kulski ends the war as a 16-year-old POW—finally risking a dash for freedom onto an American truck instead waiting for "liberation" by the Soviets.
Winner of the Benjamin Franklin GOLD AWARD (for Interior Design) and SILVER AWARD (for Autobiography/Memoir), the most prestigious awards competition in independent publishing.

"Echoes of Tattered Tongues: Memory Unfolded" by John Guzlowski, with a foreword by Charles Ades Fishman.
Winner of the Benjamin Franklin GOLD AWARD (for Poetry), the most prestigious awards competition in independent publishing.
Winner of the MONTAIGNE MEDAL for Most Thought-Provoking Book of the Year.Shelf Awareness Book Trailer of the Day, January 7, 2016.
Innovative prose and poetry weave together to tell the story of war refugee immigrants in America. In this major tour de force, Guzlowski traces the arc of one of the millions of immigrant families of America, in this case, survivors of the maelstrom of World War II.
Through a haunting collage -- poems, prose and prose poems, frozen moments of time, sometimes dreamlike and surreal, other times realistic and graphic -- the story unfolds backwards through time.
This is the story of Guzlowski's own family: his parents were taken as slave laborers by the Germans and barely survived; his sister and he were born in Displaced Persons camps.
Raw and at the same time compassionate, Guzlowski illuminates a hidden facet of World War II and reflects the many ways in which trauma echoes through time, leaving us with a deeper, more visceral understanding of the human costs of war.
