Aiming to protect Tundra Swan migration habitat from environmentally destructive, economically-useless industrial wind turbines.

Migration habitat threatened by wind turbines at Grand Bend, Lake Huron.
Some 10,000-15,000 Tundra Swans make a pit stop in the Grand Bend area on Lake Huron every March on their 6,500 kilometre epic migration from the eastern seaboard of the USA to their breeding grounds on the Arctic tundra of Canada and Alaska. We may have seen the last of this great migration because the unique resting, feeding and staging ground that is the Thedford Bog and flats near Grand Bend is threatened by the proliferation of hundreds of industrial wind turbines. Experts say that if the bog is surrounded by the wind factories as proposed, the turbines may not only kill swans but also permanently displace them by destroying the birds' access to the wide expanse of flat, boggy fields that afford perfect conditions for safety, quiet rest, food and staging room.
