With the help of a great video editor, Jay evans of Montaj 9, and a great local composer and singer, Fiji, I made this trailer for the Hawaii International Film Festival a couple of years after we moved to Hawaii. I went for weeks with my Canon GL1 to try to capture as much of the power and diversity of Hawaii I could, but barely scratched the surface. Then, at Jay's suggestion, I went to the gracious people at the Bishop Museum and found amazing video and found decades of footage that brought us at least closer to the goal of making a love poem to this magical place on the planet. - F.South
