QuickTime Player captures the screen fine, but the file lands on your desktop as a MOV that has to be exported, compressed, and uploaded somewhere before anyone else can watch it.
Most screen recorders for Mac ask for an app download, admin permissions, and screen-recording entitlements in System Settings. On a locked-down work laptop, that's a support ticket, not a five-minute recording.
Once QuickTime saves the recording, trimming filler, adding captions, and generating a share link all happen in different tools. iMovie for edits, Rev for captions, and a hosting service for the link.
