Today, we’re excited to announce our latest player tool designed to help your viewers easily navigate your videos and find those important moments faster. Chapter markers are now available to all Pro and above members and can be used wherever your videos are embedded.

Why use chapters?

Find relevant content faster

No more scrubbing through the progress bar. Chapter markers let you highlight key moments in your video that viewers can jump to instantly.Easily segment long videos

Whether it’s a lecture, a film, or an archived livestream, long-form video is easier to digest in sections. With chapters, you can add in natural breaks without having to edit or cut down the original. See engagement section by section

Get granular with your video analytics by seeing which chapters have the highest engagement from your audience. When to use chapters

Whether you’re a teacher, a marketer, a trainer, or a filmmaker, you can make your long-form content easier for viewers to navigate. Here are just some of the types of videos that lend themselves to chaptering:

Make viewing even easier

Along with chapters, Vimeo offers a number of video player tools that make it easier for your viewers to enjoy your videos. Enable speed control so viewers can watch your videos at 2x (or faster) speed if they’re in a rush or just used to listening to audio at a faster clip. This can be particularly useful for students who are reviewing lecture material they are already familiar with. Depending on their needs, viewers can also reduce the speed on your videos.

Add subtitles and captions so your content can be enjoyed by more people, both those who rely on text tracks and those who just prefer to have them on.

Vimeo is committed to helping your videos reach more audiences. An important part of this is ensuring we offer an accessible player that can be used by any audience, regardless of their cognitive, visual, or physical abilities. We’re proud to say that our player meets WCAG 2.0 AA standards of accessibility.
