An easier, speedier way to upload your videos

Vimeo Staff
We"ve redesigned the desktop uploading experience to make getting your videos onto Vimeo faster, simpler, and of course, way better.

Our video uploader is the bread and butter for the millions of creators who call Vimeo home. It’s how you get your videos off your various devices and in front of your viewers. Because we want to help you upload more videos more quickly, we’ve trimmed the fat from clarified our desktop uploading experience. You’re left with just that golden video ghee. Now when you go to vimeo.com/upload on your computer, you’ll see just the things you need and nothing more (though if you do need more, we also make it really easy to upgrade).

To upload, simply drag, drop, or select a single video file or multiple files at once, then wait for the magic to happen. Hint: you won’t be waiting long.

Speaking of magic — in addition to simplifying the design and allowing you to choose your privacy settings upfront, we also changed things up under the hood to ensure the speediest uploading and transcoding possible. We’ve always made sure you’re uploading to the the closest possible server, but now we streamlined the flight path a bit to give your video the shortest possible travel time to our careful cloud-based hands. This means faster uploading for you, especially in the remote corners of the world, and less data usage for all.

But enough technical speak. It’s time to upload more of those buttery-smooth, buffer-free videos that continue to blow us away on a daily basis! Then, you can add music and subtitles, send them to clients and collaborators, and share or sell them worldwide. Or just keep them private. Or switch to margarine. Once you upload, it’s up to you.

Before your video reaches the Vimeo player. Try out features like the trimming tool, video merger, compression utility, and GIF maker.
