Pre-roll ads, sidebar suggestions, and 'up next' videos drop distraction (and sometimes worse) into the middle of a classroom stream. Teachers spend the first minute apologizing for what popped up before the lesson started.
Student-facing content has to respect FERPA and state student-privacy laws. Public YouTube uploads and free consumer platforms don't give a district the controls to lock a video to a class, a school, or an approved domain.
IEPs, 504 plans, and general classroom accessibility mean every video needs a caption track. Adding them one at a time through a captioning vendor or hand-typed transcripts is not a workflow that scales across a district.
